Abstract

Measuring the willingness to pay for an integrated mobility and local supply concept in rural areas\nClosed grocery stores and insufficient local public transport shape numerous of today’s rural landscapes. In order to prevent quality of life from dropping, contemporary and innovative solutions for mobility and local supply have to be developed. The purpose of the empirical study is to identify the willingness to pay of an integrated mobility and local supply concept. The concept combines a bench for signalising ones need for a ride named ‘Mitfahrbank’, a citizen bus and a delivery service for grocery stores. which will be offered in different sub-scription models. The subscription models vary by the number of free rides or orders and by price. The determination of the willingness to pay takes place through a conjoint-analysis, which furthermore provides the relative importance of each attribute. The survey finds a posi-tive correlation between the number of free rides or orders and the willingness to pay. Com-paratively, willingness to pay increases by raising the degrees of free delivery service offers. The findings of this study will allow for the creation of better offers and pricing of mobility- and local supply services according to the derived recommendations of action. Finally, an urgent need for action regarding the concept of ‘Mitfahrbank’ is implied by the assessment of the study outcomes.
