Abstract

These could represent the future of buildings in Germany: homes that generate more renewable energy than they consume, thanks to sustainable planning and construction coupled with efficient, responsible use. But legislation has been lagging behind the PlusEnergy standard. The new Energieausweis(+) certificate for PlusEnergy residential buildings was designed as an add-on to the energy performance certificate for residential buildings, given the option provided in 17 (4) of the German Building Energy Conservation Ordinance to include additional information [18]. The Energieausweis(+) certificate for PlusEnergy residential buildings is a tool which can be deployed to assess PlusEnergy designs in terms of all user-and planning-dependent energy flows.
