Abstract

We investigate the resonant behavior of single and double split-ring resonators (SRRs) in the near infrared regime. The resonance differences between single and double SRRs are explored both experimentally and numerically. The analysis based on reflectance spectra and numerical near-field distributions shows that the resonant properties of a double SRR can be understood as a combination of two individual SRRs with different sizes. Additionally, we demonstrate interactions between the outer and inner rings.
