Abstract

The invention relates to a dishwasher (1), more particularly a domestic dishwasher, having a washing compartment (2) which can be closed by means of a door (3) and has a number of item receptacles (12, 13, 14) for receiving items to be washed, and a gesture input unit (15), which is arranged on the washing compartment (2) and is designed as an infrared or radar sensor for detecting a gesture of the user for operating the dishwasher (1).
