Abstract

The wide range of application areas for close range photogrammetry is indicated: medical, architectural, industrial, robotics, fluid mechanics etc. The components of a typical digital photogrammetric system are outlined. Object extraction in such a system is an integral part of the close range measurement process. Aspects relating to software and hardware are also considered. Examples addressed in detail are 3-d coordinate determination; 3-d particulate tracking; the construction of a table tennis playing robot; and an architectural design package. -D.Fairbairn
