Abstract
Decentralized decision-making is a main paradigm of Industry 4.0, of which the influence on personnel planning has hardly been taken into account. While distributed control makes ad-hoc decisions, organizational lead time is required for the rostering of production personnel. In addition, individual duty times that take employee preferences into account are rarely found in production. The research project SIM4PEP tackles these challenges.
