Abstract
For reproducing the equivalence curves for CargoVibes, more detailed information is added here which should be considered together with the text in chapter 3.2.2. CargoVibes (page 6, first section). The information is as follows: According to Janssen et al., the directionally weighted [Formula presented] is on average 15 % higher than [Formula presented]. A further note refers to the calculation of formula 4. As in the original publication, the overall median across all studies ([Formula presented] = 0.27) that Janssen et al. (2013) included was subtracted from the vibration metric to center the data. Centered values = [Formula presented]. In addition, a parenthesis in formula 4 is missing in the main publication. The correct formula is: [Formula presented] Moreover, the authors regret a misunderstanding in the last sentence from the discussion (page 8, section 4): “In the meanwhile, as a kind of conservative approach, we recommend to apply our formulas derived from the TVANE study to assess the combined annoyance effect of railway noise and railway-induced vibration.” (CargoVibes should have been named here and not TVANE). The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
