Abstract
Moving towards better representations of biological-physical linkages in eco-hydromorphology implies improving process understanding and integrating these improvements into the current modeling framework. Based on the review made for this discussion, we believe significant progress can be achieved by directing efforts at implementing multi-scale and ecological considerations to enhance existing description and prediction approaches. Ecological theory applicable to questions in eco-hydromorphology exists and has in many cases been successfully employed in the design and validation of river modeling and management schemes.
