Abstract
In high power medium voltage converter applications a low inductance busbar is designed in order to achieve fast switching, high efficiency and safe operation with low overvoltage. This paper compares an analytical calculation of a simplified DC busbar of a test bench with a PEEC simulation and the measurement of the final design. It also provides the short circuit calculation in case of semiconductor failure and its resulting forces.
