In 2024, a series of repository training workshop is planned as part of the Data Steward Project, which is a cooperation between TU Dresden and SLUB Dresden to increase the quality and quantity of research data published at TU Dresden. For each of the five departments at TU Dresden, a subject-specific research data repository will be selected and offered as open access, stand-alone training workshops. Each workshop builds on the same knowledge base including reasons for data publication, data formats, file and folder structures, licence conditions, interfaces etc. The second part is variable and repository-specific, containing step-by-step instructions with screenshots and practical exercises. The choice of a subject-specific or a multidisciplinary research data repository can both be suitable, depending on individual requirements. The workshops aim to aid in choosing a suitable repository and enable researchers to familiarise themselves with the repositories by engaging in practical exercises in the use of the respective platforms.
