The aim of this discussion paper is to define the purposes and mechanisms of discovery for the AAS and its submodels. On this basis, the paper will specify the framework of the interfaces for discovery, in addition to the defined discovery interface of the IDTA. The white paper is made for companies that want to offer Industrie 4.0-compatible components, systems or services, standardization organizations such as IEC and ISO as well as platforms provided by organizations such as Catena-X and Plattform Industrie 4.0.
