Abstract

From the perspective of allocation design, turnouts represent points of constraint in the suspension system. Crossing wiring and tangential wiring with or without touching the current collector running on the other track differ in their design, stagger of the contact wire, and the presence of coupling elements such as cross droppers or cross contact bars. The current collection quality of the different wiring designs can be modeled and analyzed through FEM simulation. All three methods offer good dynamic interaction properties between the current collector and overhead line when properly regulated.
