Abstract

In an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System production planning is influenced by a variety of parameters. Previous investigations have shown that the setting of the parameters is of high relevance. The setting should be checked and adjusted, e. g. after a change of environmental factors. This is done by material planners. In practice it is difficult due to a large number of parameters, materials and other reasons. In this paper, a simulation-based system to update material planning parameters in real-time is proposed. The system supports planners in deciding whether and how the material parameters need to be adjusted. The impact of these changes to pre-set targets is determined by simulation.
