In recognition of the very fine contributions to science made by young protein scientists, the Lorne Conference for Protein Structure and Function each year makes one to five special awards. It is generally expected that the PhD has been awarded but, under exceptional circumstances, applications by students at the late stages of their PhD will be considered. Applicants should have impressive track records for this stage of their career and a good story to tell.
