This workshop examines the systems in which artists, activists, governments and agents in the political and cultural sphere addressed ecological issues through art under socialism. It considers how artists joined forces to engage with their natural environment and the planetary dimensions of the environmental crisis across the boundaries of the socialist countries and the so-called Iron Curtain.
