Description

Annett Kupfer examines the role of social networks in the production of gendered
health inequalities. The lecture introduces central patterns of gender differences in
health and health behavior, and shows how these patterns are shaped by
gendered forms of social support, social capital, and network structures. Drawing
on recent research, the talk illustrates how everyday relationships can buffer or
reinforce health inequalities across the life course.
