Description

This research project deals with the question: What is the invariant mass of the Z Boson? It is necessary to know this value to describe the properties of the Z Boson. With this we can also calculate its lifetime.
Real data from ATLAS was analyzed by using python and ROOT to plot the data and then use fitting methods, to determine the invariant mass and the lifetime as close as possible. The values from the different fit functions will be discussed and compared to each other.
