Hosting Assoc. Prof. Anis Chekirbane from the Institut National Agronomique de Tunisie for a three-month visit with the Research Group INOWAS at TU Dresden.

The title of the research project was: "Enhancing the implementation of managed aquifer recharge (MAR) through geospatial analysis and web-based decision support tools to cope with water scarcity in arid and semi-arid regions of Tunisia.
The aim of the project was to develop a GIS-based methodology for the selection of suitable sites for the application of MAR in Tunisia and to assess the applicability potential of MAR in the Enfidha Aquifer System (Sahel of Tunisia as pilot zone).
The visit was sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
