Abstract
This chapter focuses on the critical importance of trustworthiness in Tactile Internet systems. The chapter explores the need for secure, safe, reliable, and ethically sound computing systems, especially in the context of Human-in-the-Loop interactions. The chapter addresses the challenges involved in developing trustworthy algorithms that provide formal guarantees, such as low-latency communication, energy efficiency, and resilience. The chapter emphasises the significance of explainability in algorithms and how they can be designed to align with human values and expectations.
