Abstract

The examination of Fano resonances on nano particle arrays is subject of this thesis.rnTherefor the multiple multipole method is used.rnThe plasmon resonance of nanorods will act as continuum state. Since this resonancernis well understood and good to handle experimentally, this work is focused on therninvestigations of the discrete state and the interaction between both states.rnAs discrete state the excitation of a diraction channel is used. This is caused byrnthe periodic structure of the arrays. For the exact analysis endless expanded parallelrnrods are used. Due to their cylindrical symmetry they just need to be described inrntwo dimenisons. The exact position of the array resonance was experimentally foundrnand afterwards mathematically described.rnThe nal step was to superpose both, the discrete state and the continuum state.rnThis yielded asymmetric spectra which where identied as Fano resonances.
