During the conceptual design of structural parts at first the function of load transmission has to be considered. Within the following design step beside the structural aspects also technological aspects play a role. In this phase a grade of structural integration must be defined, whereat a conflict of objectives may occur. For the design of integrative fiber composite structures it proves to be helpful to abstract the manufacturing processes and to identify fundamental capabilities for the forming of parts.
