Abstract

Gum Arabic from Acacia senegal contributes to the family income of gum farmers and to the outside trade profit of Sudan. Gum trees give an extensive variety of important ecological advantages, grub, and fuelwood, and they add to increase the harvest yield through nitrogen fixation. The review is meant to discover values for nonattractive products and services given by the A. senegal tree inside the most vital delivering territories of the gum belt in Sudan. The substitution cost system utilizing market-arranged prices was chosen to value environmental impacts of gum trees on land quality in light of evaluating expenses of fertilizer equal to the measure of nitrogen given by gum stands. The inner rate of return (IRR) for a 16-year rotating gum stand was computed as 5.2%; when ecological advantages and social qualities related to gum tree cultivation were considered, recalculated IRR bounced to 61%. Gum stands can spare the impressive cost of providing ammonia nitrate fertilizer equivalents to $78/hectare/annum.
