Abstract
This article focuses on the ubiquitous ultra-stickers in the public urban space. On the one hand, it delineates the subculturally specific staging practices made visible through these stickers in the public sphere. It delineates the subculturally specific staging practices made visible through these stickers in the public sphere. Furthermore, it sheds light on the interactional dimension of these transgressive signs with the so-called sticker wars. The methodological approach is grounded in ethnographic linguistic landscape research and Grounded Theory. Ultra-stickers photographed between November 2022 and February 2023 in the following cities serve as the empirical basis for the exploratory investigation: Dresden, Greifswald, Rostock, and Lübeck.
