The use of 800 mm graphite electrodes for a DC electric arc furnaces for improving the productivity of both steel manufacturers and furnace builders was presented. The baking, impregnation, rebaking and graphitization was conducted to ensure the feasibility of the 800 mm electrodes. The given product enabled improved utilization of installed transformers capacity and higher operating rates of continuous casting machines.
