Abstract

Summary: Today's simulation methods in the field sheet metal forming are mainly limited to quasi-static models for the process design support. Due to recent advancements in the development of drives, modern presses with significantly improved motion capabilities on the market. This allows for programmable velocity profiles and subsequently induces higher dynamics during the forming process. The research work introduced in this paper shows various approaches for a consistent virtual analysis of forming processes and their static and dynamic interaction with the machine.
