Abstract
In 1999, the medical faculty of the University of Technology Dresden decided to reform the traditional curriculum towards a hybrid curriculum retaining traditional elements as lectures and bedside teaching with problem based learning (PBL-)tutorials. Neurology is taught together with psychosomatic medicine and psychiatry as a major topic of the 7,5-week PBL-course "Nervous System and Psyche". External evaluation data showed high acceptance of the course by the medical students. We describe concept, planning and implementation of the PBL-course "Nervous System and Psyche" with a focus on Neurology.
