Abstract
As humanity enters longer space missions, radiation, microgravity, and isolation pose critical health challenges. Microgravity alters fluid and cellular dynamics, enabling new bioengineering strategies. This raises a key question: should biomaterials for space mirror Earth's or be fundamentally reimagined? These themes were explored at TERMIS-EU 2025 symposia “Space tissue engineering and regenerative medicine—A new era began!” and “Lift-off: Translating tissue engineering tools and methods to space.” Here, we hear unique voices on this topic from the organizers and speakers.
