Abstract
In the last decade multiple haptic devices have been proposed, being designed for the hand, chest or the whole body. However, multiple of these designs have mainly focused on the technical design rather than on the possible applications. In this paper, the influence of haptic feedback over cinematic experience is studied. For that purpose, a short video, where the main character experiences different touch sensations, has been recorded, and haptic feedback signals have been prepared accordingly with Teslasuit, a commercial full body haptic suit. 9 participants watched the video with and without haptic feedback, and their perceptual response was obtained through a set of questions and two psychophysical tests. The results show that participants reacted favourably, and their cinematic experience was enhanced through haptic feedback.
