Abstract

As hydrogen will play an important role within the decarbonisation of flight industry, new solutions are needed to store the necessary amount of climate friendly fuel within current and next generation aircrafts. Optimised Lightweight design and performance orientated manufacturing processes are the key for the development of hydrogen vessels suitable for aviation industry. For this reason, the presentation will focus on the selection and optimisation of manufacturing processes to enhance gravimetric storage density of pressurized hydrogen vessels for general aviation use cases after a short summary on current legal framework for system approval.
