Abstract

Loadcase impact – modeling of highly dynamic deformation behavior of reinforced concrete structures. The challenging calculation of dynamic fracture processes is driving the development of novel computational methods. In this contribution, models for brittle fracture and partial delamination of reinforcements at impact loading are discussed. Methods for the reduction of computational effort in describing interface failure are shown. The recent developments in modeling of fracture mechanics have yield novel approaches for crack nucleation and propagation, which are discussed by several examples.
