Abstract

Open frameworks and tools in plasma physics provide potential for complex, cross-domain modeling and analysis activities. Connecting those, standardization efforts aid compatibility and improve usability. We present openPMD (open standard for particle-mesh data files) and PICMI (particle-in-cell modeling interface) as two projects focusing on data and software input compatibility.
