In this 45-minute presentation, we use the case of the missing NASA moon landing tapes to introduce the FAIR principles. By examining each letter of the FAIR acronym, we reveal how insufficient data management led to the poor-quality footage we all know today. This is contrasted with an introduction to FAIR, highlighting how the implementation of these principles can enhance our own research data management and why it is worth the effort to apply them.
