Abstract

The paper investigates an industrial DC microgrid featuring renewable energy sources, battery storage and multiple consumers alongside two redundant active infeed converters connected to the AC grid. With the implemented decentralized control structure, potential DC voltage based droop control characteristics are derived and discussed. To provide experimental validation of the droop control schemes with distributed participants in the DC microgrid, a self-developed synchronous, real-time measurement platform is installed. The obtained measurement results are used to confirm the effectiveness of the implemented droop control and to evaluate the interactions between participants, power flow, and grid stability during operation.
