Aims to inform about the German study sites of the ELDERLY-Study which investigates 2 outpatient short-term interventions (individual therapy) for individuals aged 60+ with DSM-5 alcohol use disorder (AUD). Methods an international, multi-centric, randomized-controlled clinical trial without medication and with one baseline and 4 follow-up assessments. Participants were randomized to either treatment condition: four sessions of Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) or 12 sessions of MET und Community Reinforcement Approach for Seniors (CRAS). Results n=203 individuals participated in Germany (47,8% female, mean age: 66,5 years). All degrees of DSM-5 AUD severity were present (severe: 32,5%). The intervention was mostly evaluated positively by participants. Conclusions older adults with DSM-5 AUD are open for a short-term outpatient intervention. They do not necessarily present with mild AUD.
