The authors regret the omission of the abstract: A 59-year-old man with metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) achieved sustained remission after radiotherapy and avelumab. Over two years later, he developed progressive hearing loss and visual impairment. MRI revealed diffuse leptomeningeal enhancement. Cerebrospinal fluid cytology confirmed leptomeningeal disease (LMD). Due to rapid neurological decline, planned whole-brain radiotherapy and chemotherapy were not initiated, and he died two weeks later. While central nervous system metastases are extremely rare in MCC, their presence may be associated with concurrent LMD. In suspected cases, cerebrospinal fluid analysis is crucial for timely recognition and appropriate management. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
