Abstract
The application of high-performance ceramics as construction materials requires an extensive characterization of the strength behavior with special allowance for statistical data. For ceramics, strength data are meaningful only with additional data on the probability of fracture. By means of an experimental example, the practical application of Weibull analysis is shown to the designer.
