Abstract

The paper presents the results of the SERVING project. Within this project, a platform has been developed that aggregates the flexibility of individual loads for optimized energy procurement while taking into account the grid capability. During the pilot project with 50 customers, water pumps and night storage heaters were controlled. Due to the generic treatment of flexible loads, other flexibilities like electric vehicles or heat pumps can be controlled by the platform as well. Challenges to gather data and control a large mass of flexibilities in rural networks are presented as well as the solutions developed.
