Abstract
At the moment in the field of construct ion, adhesively bonded joi nts are only carried out by the use of silicones. On the other hand alternative adhesives offer many advantages: lt is now pos sible to have a higher strength as weil as thinner adhesive bonded joints with completely trans parent or coloured joints. To apply adhesively bonded glass, design and calculation of these connections must be ensured.
In a current joint research project transparent adhesives of higher strength will be investigated for their suitability for use with structural glass. Typical glass constructions, which require trans parent, elastic and non-ageing adhesive bonded joints, are subject for investigation.
