Bond, deformation and crack formation in carbon reinforced conrete

Publikation: Beitrag zu KonferenzenPosterBeigetragen

Abstract

Strengthening reinforced concrete structures with the composite material carbon reinforced concrete (CRC) offers a very efficient and economical alternative to the usual shotcrete or lamella variants. High-strength textile grids made from carbon fibers impregnated with a polymer are embedded in a layer of concrete just a few millimeters thick. This is a resource-efficient way of reinforcing components with a particularly low material input, significantly increasing the service life of load-bearing structures in the long term. The carbon reinforcement is also corrosion resistant and the thin layer of strengthening adds little to the weight and appearance of the structure.
