Abstract
This brief presents a scalable electrophysiology front-end designed in Globalfoundries 22 nm FDSOI. A very low footprint of 0.018 mm2 per channel is achieved. Robust and yet power- and area-efficient digital circuits replace Process-, Supply Voltage- and Temperature-(PVT) sensitive components like high- and low-pass filters. Low-noise amplifiers with different gain are investigated. Depending on the LNA version, input signals of ±1 mV and ±10 mV can be acquired. To reduce offsets in the variable gain amplifier and SAR ADC, a chopping technique is applied. All these approaches combined make the system more robust in small technologies and reduce input-referred noise down to 5.6 μ V at 1.5 μ W /ch.
