Abstract
A trajectory tracking control method for a large class of nonlinear systems with time delays is proposed. To this end, a generalization of known flatness concepts for time delay systems is introduced. Two classes of chemical stirred tank reactors with recycle loops, which are modelled as tubular reactors, illustrate the usefulness of the concept. Stationary analysis, trajectory design for start-up and feedback linearization are discussed.
